Long coat

Since it was Christmas, I wanted to see a movie, so I watched Green Book.

I've probably watched it about five times.

By interacting with others, we can learn, discover, and realize new things.

Through this film, we can learn about the joys and difficulties of life, and the beauty of compromise.

I'm comparing that heart-fluttering Merry Christmas to my own life.

I also went to Kentucky and wanted to eat fried chicken.

He throws away the bone and goes back to pick up the cup. That's one of the things I love about this movie.

I think I'll continue writing this blog with Don Shirley's piano as background music.

Christmas is already over.

Santa no longer comes, but the studio still receives a lot of fabric.

Santa has stopped coming, but I still get letters from people who dress me up.

Santa doesn't come anymore, but I still drink coffee and reminisce with my friends.

Santa didn't come, but we had a pizza delivery, two slices of cake and a good time.

It's like a gift from Santa to me as I get older.

Merry Christmas.

I have one thing to announce: I have decided on a new atelier.

I started the brand in November 2022 and put everything in a 12-tatami mat studio apartment.

There was nothing else there except a sewing machine, an iron, a cutting table, and two large clothes racks.

The collections will be announced in February and August, and then worn at exhibitions in March and September.

There was something that was gradually increasing. We were able to increase it little by little together.

Facing the future of Shota Hiyama, and expressing what we want to empathize with through clothing.

As I was drawing, I realized that it was important to take a step forward that I had never taken before.

As I wrote in my last blog, I want to bring clothing making closer to everyday life.

Next time, I'd like to have an atelier closer to home, rather than one that's like a secret base.

We will create a place where everyone can come together and sew together, discussing this and that.

Spring is coming. Come visit us. (Buyers, please come.)

This winter, we will be creating our final collection in our current atelier, with a touch of emotion.

I want to talk about the Fall/Winter 2014 collection.

Before creating a collection, I always make it a point to visit the production areas and meet the artisans.

There is real-life knowledge and ideas there that you can't find on the Internet, and it's inspiring.

This leads to the options for expression of Shota Hiyama's brand, and each piece of clothing takes shape.

Around October, I visited Oshu (Aichi/Gifu), which I often visit, and started thinking about hand-knitted yarn.

The theme, keywords you have written down, how much you want to express with the thread, the thickness of the thread, etc.

I also went to Ishikawa and Shizuoka. The corduroy I encountered in Shizuoka was in a class of its own.

The amount of material that was left behind to achieve this level of quality was so overwhelming it was almost laughable.

They say quantity is better than quality, and quality is better than numbers, but it's easy to tell without even hearing that it's numbers that create quality.

On my way home from Shizuoka, I suddenly remembered the words of the owner of a spaghetti restaurant I used to frequent.

"Those who make things make hearts"

Even so, I'm glad I went. When I come across something great, it really stimulates my imagination.

I was already looking forward to making clothes using this corduroy.

(The Spring/Summer 2014 collection will be available at select retailers from around February. Look forward to it.)

I want to talk about something trivial.

Winter tobacco is so delicious.

Korean dramas are full of tension.

Wash your hands and gargle to avoid catching a cold.

Christmas in Tokyo is bright and sparkling.

I want to go mountain climbing, but I haven't been able to.

I want to spend the winter saying it's cold.

I want to scream love in the center of the world.

But I don't know where the center is.

The word "sure victory" is an arrow pointing directly at me.

Welcome the new year with new underwear and socks.

Have a super happy new year.

Thank you. See you again.

have a happy new year with LOVE!:)

Shota Hiyama
